I discovered acupuncture over 20 years ago, when it helped me recover from a debilitating bout of illness. Ten years later I bit the bullet and changed career, studying firstly with the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland where I graduated with a first class honours Licentiate in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), studying with prominent Chinese doctors Professor Jin Hui De, Dr Jidong Wu and Dr MengFanyi as well as fertility expert Debra Betts. I subsequently undertook a Post Graduate Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine.
I am currently completing postgraduate training in Five Element Acupuncture at the College of Five Element Acupuncture (COFEA) and take part in continual professional development with specialists such as Gertraud Jung, Nora Franglen and Gerad Kite.
Five Element Acupuncture is a form of acupuncture that works to truly treat the person on all levels of their self and recognises that, particularly in today’s hectic Western society, physical health problems are very often as much a result of emotional and spiritual distress as they are of any physical issues.
Because of my own background and experiences I have a passion for working with women at whatever stage of their fertility journey they are on, as well as nurturing and caring for newborn mums (and dads!). I also have a strong interest in the impact that good nutrition and a mindful approach to life can have on our health and wellbeing.
I live with my composer husband, three kids and two kittens in Co. Wexford, Ireland.
